we welcome wood

We are excited to bring wood into Pebbles in my Pocket... this cute little owl is our start and we will add more quite often. We all have our favorite printed papers and so I thought it best to just sell the plain wood and you can pick your own paper, either from our website or from your stock at home. I am working on an easy tuturial for you that I will post on the blog in the next day or two. As I drew up my first pattern for you, it felt a bit awkward, but as I started working with the wood again, the ideas are starting to pop in my head. This will be a fun project and the wood will be available for you at our store and online here.

november 2012 visiting teaching

Our November 2012 Visiting Teaching Message and Treats have just been created and are ready to go. $2.49 each. Individually wrapped chocolates are tucked inside. Yum! this week at pebbles october 22-29

Good morning! 

On these fall stormy days don't you just want to stay home in your pjs and putter... maybe curl up with a good book and a handful of MM's? Doesn't matter how much I love what I do... my heart is always home. I feel blessed that I live a quick 5 minutes away from Pebbles.

Today, I am working on Christmas Creativity for Kits, but have Fall in my heart. Always have. The colors, the message of thankfulness... everything! Of all the seasons, fall for me is the most wonderful season to create for, followed by Love / Valentines. Today however, I must focus on Christmas and have ideas in my head to work on... they should be ready soon. I will be in touch!

Owl Pillow Box Tutorial

Supplies Needed:

A standard pillow pattern that can be found on the Silhouette or the Cricut.  The one shown is 3” x 4’

Favorite printed paper, cream & golden yellow cardstock

Red Double Stick Tape

White craft glue or small glue dots

Pebbles Inc. Candy Dots (black)

Craft blade

Instructions:

1. Draw small half circles onto the inside of the pillow box with pencil as shown. Cut carefully with craft blade. Fluff upwards. 

2. Place a strip of red double stick tape across the entire side tab of the pillow box, making sure it covers the edge completely. Extra tape can always be folded and pressed back onto the edge as shown. Press together. 

3. Gently fold in the notched tab first, followed by the solid tab on both ends. 

4. Hand cut and attach eyes and beaks as shown. 

These cute little owls make great party favors and place settings gifts. Keep plenty handy and fill with your favorite small gifts, gift card or treats.

chevron gift bag with handmade paper bow

The Scene and Noted Collection by Pebbles Inc. could possibly be my favorite collection ever... the aquas, reds, grays and yellows are fresh and fun, perfect for just about any project you can think of. Here we folded down a gray chevron bag, stapled a hand written flag tag and folded doily and then glued on a dimensional paper bow with button using the Seen and Noted Collection. Feel free to trade out any color of bag or printed paper to coordinate with the celebration you are working on. They would make a perfect gift bag or take home party favor or place settng. Pretty cute and easy peasy too :)

Spider Treat Box

They say three times the charm. This is my second practice project, but the real test will be if I can remember how I did this tomorrow. Stay tuned :)

owl pillow box

I think heaven lies where summer ends and fall begins. There is something magical about the crispness in the air, the leaves are changing color and it starts getting darker earlier and earlier. Makes me want to settle in at home and nest.

I am learning Illustrator. I know many of you think I already know the program, but truth is I sketch a lot and pass it on to someone who knows what they are doing. I can learn something on the computer and minutes later, draw a blank and get lost with no clue. It promises to be a challenge for me.

I want to mix things up and present our creativity in a new way. I like the warm background for the owl. I am thinking so far so good. What are your thoughts?
