Keeping It Simple : Classic Merry Christmas Banner
Henry David Thoreau wrote "Our life is frittered away by detail. Simplify, simplify." I couldn't agree more! When my life gets complicated, I usually end up far from the things that matter most: family, friends, time to enjoy the little things, serving others and my faith. Keeping this Christmas simple was the inspiration for our latest banner because a simple holiday season is a joyful holiday season.
Of course, this banner could be easily embellished with sprigs of holly, mistletoe, ribbons or small Christmas ornaments. It's the perfect decoration for the traditionalist who likes things uncomplicated. :)

DIY : Halloween Narrow Pennant Banner
As the haunting hour draws near, I am getting more and more in the mood for all things Halloween-ish. Our new DIY banner is less spooky, however, and more sparkly.
It's Halloween decoration with style!
These pennants are made from textured card stock and are much more narrow than the ones I've made in the past. Also, the whole banner measures 14', so you'll have plenty of length to work with. It could easily be double hung (for that fun layered look) or even looped around the side of a table. My favorite are the silver glittered pennants! Don't they set it off nicely?

Putting It Together : Halloween
I frequently hear customers in my store say things like: "I love the way you put things together" or "You have such cute things...I wish I knew how to use them all!" or "These banners are so cute, but where would I put them?" Today's blog is dedicated to answering some of these questions and help you put something fabulous together. And because it is October, I'm only going to focus on Halloween.
Kids Halloween Party : Spider Theme
Little kids are usually afraid of spiders. However, all of my spider creations are too cute to spook. I can see a child's party table decorated with soda pop bottles, Spider Straws, and either these Spider Treat Cups or Spider Pillow Boxes. Above the table, our Spider Garland is spookily draped. It is always best to accent your table with festive colors of the season. Imitation spider webs would add a nice touch as well. If you want a little more variety and color, replace the pillow boxes or cups with our whimsical Halloween Treat Boxes, shown below.
Friend Gathering : Casual
These 3 decorations are some of my favorite! Imagine a table set for a nice friend luncheon. What's on the menu? Pumpkin soup! An Owl Pillow Box is set at each place...a gift for each guest. In the center of the table is a spooky branch arrangement in a vase. The branches have been spray-painted black and decorated with our Clothespins Bats. Overhead our stylish Halloween Dot Garland has been carefully hung.
Of course, we have many many more Halloween Creations to offer. You can check them all out here. And, don't forget to let me know if this post was helpful!

New Dictionary Print Banners
It has been fun putting together new custom banners for this holiday season. I wanted to make a few that were more simple in design, shape and color. Here are two of my latest creations.
What I love about this banner is its' country charm. Can't you see this hung over a Thanksgiving table or along a hearth? The pennants are hand-stamped and made with dictionary paper.
This banner's design makes it perfect as a background decoration for any harvest themed party. Its' pennants are made from dictionary paper as well, yet are more narrow. Simple and charming, don't you think?

DIY : Basic Dictionary Pennant Memory Banner
I love pictures! They create conversations, remind me of good times and fill my heart with gratitude. This is why I have been looking for a unique way to display my personal photos throughout the year. I think I created just the thing. It's called the Basic Dictionary Pennant Memory Banner.
The idea is pretty simple: hang banner, decorate with photos and holiday themed items, enjoy!
Here is an example of it all gussied up for Halloween.
The great thing about this banner is its' versatility. It is both a yearlong decorative piece AND a revolving photo display! Plus, all pictures and decorations are super easy to take down and replace! You will have as much fun creating it as people will looking at it.

All holiday-themed "add-on" kits are sold separately (you provide the photos, of course).
Can't you see this banner being used as a photo display for just about any celebration? Birthdays, Fathers' Day, 4th of July, first day of school...what do you think would make a great memory banner "add-on" kit?

diy : Halloween Dots Garland
This dot garland drapes beautifully! And, it is so easy, you don't even need a tutorial. Just find a sewing machine and black thread, sew in a straight line, adding in dots every half inch or so. Of course, the stitching may not be perfect...but I think that adds to its' charm. Don't you?
- Easy to assemble kits found here
- Save time and let us do the work for you here
- Carrot, Melon and Black Premium texture cardstock found here
You could make this garland in many different color patterns. This one is perfect for fall. But, change the colors up a bit and you could have one for spring, summer...endless possibilities!

Happy Labor Day...Hello Fall
Happy Labor Day! It is now the "official" start of fall. Don't you love this time of year? Leaves turning colors, kids heading back to school, the smell in the air...fall is slowly creeping up on us and my creations are reflecting this. For example, these cute little pumpkin ornaments!
True to our Pebbles style, these are incredibly easy and fun to make. Simply curl green strip with round object (like a pencil). Then, place 3 circles on top of each other, lining the scalloped edges up. Fold the pumpkin stem in half and place on top with the curly stem tucked underneath it as shown. Then, sew a straight seam down the middle, reinforcing at the beginning and end (begin with extra thread on top for hanging). Trim bottom thread and tie the top threads into a 1/2" knot for hanging. These are especially beautiful when hung from a natural or black spray-painted tree branch! Check the links below for ordering.

- Paper from Thirty Once collection found here

sunny side framed monogram
Aug 20-27 it is 40% off while supplies last!
I took Sunny Side project pictures today for you and my card uploader was no where to be found... until tonight. For this first project, I found a 12 x 12 frame at the thrift store for $2 and spray painted it cream. I love these frames because if (when) they get chipped, it just makes it look better. Then, I cut out a large P and arranged it with the paper, stickers and floral embellishments as shown. I added my favorite scrunched up dictionary paper too. A touch of white glitter added some nice shine. I think this would be perfect in a girls room... but for now, P is for Pebbles and I will hang it on our wall here at the store. Look forward to another fun project tomorrow :)
Be sure to leave a comment on our blog or facebook page anytime this week to be entered in our Sunny Side Collection Giveaway on Monday, August 27. Help spread the word of this great deal with your friends... we surely do appreciate you!
