Chick Sour Cream Box Tutorial

How cute is this little guy? He’s the perfect size to fill with goodies and give to friends this Easter season. These are a snap to put together, and are less tricky than they look. We are asked several times each day how to create a sour cream box and in this case, a picture is worth a thousand words and smiles... enjoy!

Assembly

Step 1: Fold along the perforated lines of your flat chick box. Adhere the two eyes and beak to the textured side of your box.

Step 2: Run a small strip of double-sided tape along the edge of one of the two flaps. Fold the remaining flap on top of the other to secure.

Step 4: Gently pinch the sides of your box together as shown. Staple.

Step 5: Adhere chick wings to the sides of your box and fill with your favorite candy.

Step 6: Once your box is filled, take the chick fringe, and insert into the opening of your box. Arrange how you like and staple the box closed as shown.

Living in Utah, I feel blessed to live in the four seasons. Each season ends before we are ready to say goodbye to it, but I suppose that is what keeps everything fresh and lets us know the year is going by. 

After our long and snowy winter, saying hello to spring is a breath of fresh air. Daffodils are coming out and buds are on the trees. It's 45 degrees and you would think it's shorts and tshirt weather already. Spring is here. Sunny one day, rainy the next or maybe even snow...

Love is in the air... but Spring is around the corner

Woke up to snow... always lifts my heart in the winter. Everytime. If it's cold, we may as well have snow. It's light and fluffy. Downside, it does keep many home and away from Pebbles.

I know your minds are on Valentines and love at this time of year. Mine is now on Easter / Spring.  I have to stay one step ahead of the seasons (not always easy to do). Yesterday was my deadline to have our Easter / Wood designs completed and as usual, I gave myself the death penalty if I failed. It usually has to be something a bit drastic like that to get me through a late night. This morning I have a stack of designs I love, am a bit tired, but a stay of execution. I will live to see another day. Feels good. They should start coming into the store and online within a week or so... you will be the first to know.  Paper designs and kits begin today!!!

Meanwhile, our store is filled with some of the prettiest Valentine paper  and kits we have ever had... while supplies last for your day of love. Live away? Ashlee has gathered all Valentines together and you will find everything here to make your day extra special.

Blossom Garland

We are in love with our new Blossom Garland.  These pretty little flowers are sure to brighten up any corner with some fresh elegance.  Can't you see this garland strung up at an outdoor wedding?  And, it is super simple to put together.  A mere 30 minute project! Stay tuned for the tutorial...

birdhouses

I can't say enough about these cute little birdhouses.  They just beckon the spring weather indoors.  They are also so easy to make, you'll want a dozen!  Simply fold die-cut along scored lines and stick sides together with double-sided sticky tape.  Draw a bead of your favorite craft glue along roof line, and then gently press roof paper down onto it (as shown).  Finish by adhering sweet little flower over birdhouse entrance.  Available as a kit here and premade here. pretty purse treat box tutorial

Just thought you might like to see how easy this project actually is!  You simply fold tabs along scores and adhere to main panels. Then glue handle strip ends to box interior as shown. Glue rhinestone to the center of the flower cutout, then adhere both to front flap. Flower petals may be folded away from box to add shape and dimension.  Voilà!

I just couldn't wait to post these!  Our Little Purse Treat Boxes would make the prefect addition for any spring gathering or girl party, no matter our age :)  Can't you just envision a "girls" table dotted with these for a Mothers' Day luncheon?  Yes, spring is in full swing; so don’t wait to get started.  These little darlings also coordinate beautifully with our Spring Doily Banner! With warm weather just around the corner, my thoughts are quickly turning towards summer! So many creative ideas are floating in my head...  sunshine, flip flops, watermelons, clouds, flowers, pinwheels, water fun and the Fourth of July. Today's project? A set of Birdhouses  that make the cutest little home for our two new birdies. Both sizes of birdies are available separately so you can customize them for your home... one for each family member :)  Birdhouses and Birdies are created using Crate Paper found here.

I finish creating our wood craft pieces one at a time for Pebbles in my Pocket, so last night it was fun to gather them and see how they play together.  I like to pick a couple of my favorite paper collections for my projects so they will coordinate together as you decorate your home or work place...  Next up? I am happy to tell you that our Easter creativity is now online as kits... we each have our favorites and hope you will have fun picking out your favorites too. They coordinate beautifully with our spring banners and garlands. They can be assembled in minutes, are adorable and yes! affordable too... it can't get any better :)

Ahhh! The joy of banners. The only thing better than one banner is two or three layered together... somehow magic happens when we combine our favorites together. Each season, we pick our favorite paper collection and we build the seasonal line around it... everything beautifully matches.
